Land Value Rates for Wellington

Email your councillors

Wellington City Council is considering a transition to Land Value Rates this year. Find your ward, email your councillors, and ask them to support a fairer rating system.

Find your ward

This finder works by suburb. If you’re on the Māori roll, see the Māori ward panel as well.

Why this matters

Land Value Rates would shift the rating base off buildings and onto land value. That means less penalty for improving property or adding homes, and a stronger incentive to use well-located land properly.

Mayor

You may also want to contact the Mayor directly to support a transition to Land Value Rates.

Te Whanganui-a-Tara Māori Ward

This ward is not based on suburb. If you’re enrolled on the Māori roll, you may also want to contact your Māori ward councillor.
