Wellington City Council is considering a transition to Land Value Rates this year. Find your ward, email your councillors, and ask them to support a fairer rating system.
This finder works by suburb. If you’re on the Māori roll, see the Māori ward panel as well.
Land Value Rates would shift the rating base off buildings and onto land value. That means less penalty for improving property or adding homes, and a stronger incentive to use well-located land properly.
You may also want to contact the Mayor directly to support a transition to Land Value Rates.
